১.চোখের ড্রপ:
একজন মানুষের পরিপুর্ন সুস্থ থাকার জন্য চোখ হলো অমূল্য সম্পদ। চোখ ছাড়া পৃথিবী আলোহীন।সুতরাং অতি মূল্যবান এই চোখ নিয়ে বেশিরভাগ সময় আমরা অনেক ভুল সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়ে থাকি।
চোখে অনেক ধরনের রোগ হয়ে থাকে। বিশেষ করে কনজাংটিভাইটিস ভাইরাস (বিভিন্ন প্রকার হতে পারে), ক্যালাজিওন, স্টাই, ক্যাটারেক্ট, গ্লুকোমা ভাইরাস ইত্যাদি।
এই চোখ নিয়ে মানুষ অসংখ্য ভুল কাজ করেন। যেমন: চোখের রোগ হলে এরা ফার্মেসীতে গিয়ে ড্রপ, অয়েন্টমেন্ট কিনতে ব্যাস্ত। ফার্মেসীম্যানের বিক্রি বৃদ্ধির স্বার্থে দিয়ে দিলো ড্রপ আপনাকে।
আবার অনেকেই আছেন তার কোনো একজন আত্মীয় এই ড্রপ দিয়ে চক্ষু রোগের সমাধান করেছিলেন আর তিনিও ডাক্তার না দেখিয়ে সেই চক্ষু ড্রপটাই কিনে ব্যবহার করেন। অনেকেই আছেন দু মাস আগে এই ড্রপটা দিয়ে চক্ষু রোগ নিরাময় করেছিলেন এখন আবার সমস্যা হওয়াতে পুর্বের খোলা ড্রপটা আবার ব্যবহার করছেন।
অনেকেই আবার বেশি বুঝেন এক ফোঁটার পরিবর্তে দু ফোঁটাও চোখে দেন, এমনকি ড্রপ ব্যবহারের নিয়ম সম্পর্কে জানেন না। আর এই ব্যবহারবিধি সমস্যা নিয়েই আজকের লিখা।

ড্রপ ব্যবহারের পূর্বে হাত পরিষ্কার থাকা আবশ্যক ।
যেদিন প্রথম ড্রপের বোতলের ক্যাপ খোলা হবে সেদিন অবশ্যই খেয়াল করে ড্রপের বোতলের গায়ে তারিখটা নোট আকারে লিখে রাখবেন কারণ ড্রপের মুখ খোলার পর এক মাসের অধিক একই ড্রপের বোতল ব্যবহার করা অনুচিত।
যদি ক্রয়কৃত ড্রপটি সাসপেনশন টাইপ হয় তাহলে ব্যবহারের পুর্বে ড্রপটি ঝাকিয়ে নিতে হবে।
এরপর আক্রান্ত রোগীকে বসিয়ে মাথাটা পিছনের দিকে হেলে নিয়ে চোখের পাতা আলতোভাবে টেনে ধরে চোখের কোনা বরাবর ড্রপ ব্যাবহার করতে হবে।
ড্রপ দেওয়ার পরে কমপক্ষে দশ সেকেন্ড চোখ বন্ধ করে রাখতে হবে।
ড্রপ চোখে দেওয়ার পরবর্তীতে চোখের কোনায় নাকের পাশটা হাত দিয়ে চেপে ধরতে হবে যাতে কোন অবস্থাতেই নাকে না চলে যায় বা চোখের বাহিরে গড়িয়ে নিচে না পরে।
খেয়াল রাখতে হবে ব্যবহারকৃত ড্রপ যেন চোখের কর্নিয়াতে না পড়ে এবং ব্যবহারের সমায় ড্রপের নজেল যেন চোখে না ছোঁয়।
প্রত্যেক চোখে এক ফোঁটা করে ড্রপ দিতে হয়ে (অর্থাৎ দু চোখে এক ফোঁটা, এক ফোঁটা করে দিতে হবে)। একের অধিক ড্রপ একই সময়ে কোনক্রমেই দেয়া যাবে না।
যদি কখনো আপনার ডাক্তার আপনাকে একাধিক ধরনের ড্রপ ব্যবহারে পরামর্শ করেন তাহলে একই সময়ে দুই ধরনের ড্রপ দেয়া সম্পূর্ন নিষেধ। কারন অন্তত ১ ধরনের ড্রপ ব্যবহার করার ত্রিশ মিনিট পরে অন্য আরেক ধরনের ড্রপ চোখে ব্যবহার করতে হবে।
যদি চোখের ড্রপ অথবা অয়েন্টমেন্ট দুই টাই প্রেসক্রিপশনে থাকে তাহলে সে ক্ষেত্রে অবশ্যই আগে ড্রপ ব্যবহার করতে হবে, এরপরে অয়েন্টমেন্ট। এর কারণ হলো অয়েন্টমেন্ট ব্যবহারের অন্তত দুই ঘন্টা পর আবার ড্রপ ব্যবহার সর্বোত্তম।
ড্রপ ব্যবহারের ফলে যদি চোখ প্রচন্ড জ্বালাপোড়া বা অন্য কোনো রোগ অনুভূত হয় তাহলে দ্রুত চিকিৎসকে বিষয়টি জানাতে হবে।
পূর্বে যদি কোনো চোখের ড্রপ ব্যবহারে আপনার এলার্জীর সমস্যা হয়ে থাকে তাহলে এবারে আপনার ডাক্তারকে সেই ড্রপটির নাম সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত জানান।
৩.নিজের চোখে ড্রপ কিভাবে দিবেন :
১. সর্বপ্রথম ড্রপের নাম এবং ব্যবহারের নিয়মাবলী আপনার প্রেসক্রিপশনের সাথে মিলিয়ে নিন। দেখে নিন মেয়াদের তারিখ সঠিক আছে কিনা । হাতের কাছে প্রয়োজনীয় টিস্যু পেপার রাখুন।
২. দু হাত ভালোভাবে জীবাণুমুক্ত করে নিন এবং পরিষ্কার তোয়ালে দ্বারা মুছে শুকিয়ে নিন।
৩.মাথা পিছন দিকে হেলিয়ে বসুন অথবা আয়নার সামনে সোজা হয়ে দাঁড়ান অথবা বিছানায় চিৎ হয়ে শুয়ে পড়ুন।
৪.চক্ষু ড্রপারের এর মুখ খুলুন এবং আপনার নাকের উপর দিয়ে আড়াআড়ি ধরুন। অথবা কপালের দিক থেকে আক্রান্ত চোখের ভ্রু বরাবর ধরুন।
৫. আক্রান্ত চোখের নিচের পাতা আলতো করে টেনে ধরুন যেন ১টি পকেট তৈরি হয়, এবার ১ ফোঁটা ড্রপ দিন। লক্ষ্য রাখুন আই ড্রপার এর মুখ যেন আক্রান্ত চোখের পাতা বা পাপড়িতে কোথাও স্পর্শ না করে।
৬. ড্রপ ব্যবহারের পর আলতো ভাবে চোখ বন্ধ করুন। চোখে জোরে চাপ দেবেন না।
৭.পরিষ্কার টিস্যু দিয়ে আস্তে করে চোখ মুছে ফেলার চেষ্টা করুন ।চোখের কোনে (নাকের বরাবর) হাল্কা ভাবে চাপ দিয়ে রাখুন কমপক্ষে পনেরো সেকেন্ড।
৮.বোতলের মুখ লাগিয়ে নিরাপদের সাথে শুকনো জায়গায় রাখুন (যেমন :ফ্রিজ)।
৯.পরিষ্কার পানি দিয়ে হাত ধুয়ে ফেলুন।
৪.কিভাবে রোগীর চোখে ড্রপ দিবেন :
১. পূর্বের নিয়ম অনুসারে এক থেকে তিন পর্যন্ত ধাপ পূর্বের নিয়মে করুন।
২.ড্রপের ক্যাপটি খুলুন এবং আক্রান্ত চোখের ওপর ড্রপটি ধরুন। ব্যবহারে অসুবিধা হলে আক্রান্ত রোগীর কপালের উপর হাতের ভর রাখতে পারেন।
৩. আক্রান্ত চোখের নিচের পাতা আলতো করে টেনে ধরুন।
৪. ১ফোঁটা ড্রপ দিন।
৫. আক্রান্ত রোগীর চোখ বন্ধ করতে বলুন। এবং পরিষ্কার টিসু দিয়ে চোখ মুছে দিন।
৬.ড্রপের
৬.ড্রপের মুখ বন্ধ করে শুকনো ঠান্ডা স্থানে (ফ্রিজে) সংরক্ষণ করুন ।
৭.ব্যবহারের পর হাত পরিষ্কার করে নিন।
৮. একই সাথে একাধিক আই ড্রপ দেওয়ার সময় হলে কমপক্ষে পাঁচ মিনিট পর পর দিবেন এবং অন্যদিকে অয়েন্টমেন্ট এর ক্ষেত্রে সবশেষে অয়েন্টমেন্ট আক্রান্ত চোখে দিবেন।

2. Rules for using drops:
Hands must be clean before using the drops.
On the day the cap of the first drop bottle is opened, note the date on the drop bottle as it is not recommended to use the same drop bottle for more than one month after opening.

After putting the drops in the eyes, the side of the nose should be pressed with the hand so that it does not go down the nose or roll out of the eye.
Care should be taken that the used drops do not fall on the cornea of the eye and that the nozzle of the drop does not touch the eye during use.
One drop should be given in each eye (ie one drop in both eyes, one drop should be given). Never give more than one drop at a time.
If your doctor ever advises you to use more than one type of drops, it is absolutely forbidden to give two types of drops at the same time. Because at least thirty minutes after using one type of drop, another type of drop should be used in the eye.
If eye drops or ointments are in both prescriptions, then the drops must be used first, followed by the ointment. This is because it is best to reapply the drops at least two hours after using the ointment.
If you experience severe eye irritation or any other disease as a result of using the drops, you should immediately inform the doctor.
If you have had an allergy problem with any eye drops in the past, tell your doctor about the name of that drop.
3. How to give eye drops:
1. First, match the name of the drop and the instructions for use with your prescription. Check if the expiry date is correct. Keep tissue paper handy.
2. Disinfect both hands thoroughly and dry them with a clean towel.
3. Sit with your head tilted back or stand straight in front of a mirror or lie flat on the bed.
4. Open the mouth of the eye dropper and hold it crosswise over your nose. Or grab it from the forehead along the brow of the affected eye.
5. Gently pull the lower lid of the affected eye to form a pocket, then instill 1 drop. Make sure that the mouth of the eye dropper does not touch the affected eyelids or eyelids.
6. Gently close the eyes after using the drops. Do not press hard on the eyes.
7. Try to gently wipe the eyes with a clean tissue. Gently press the corner of the eye (along the nose) for at least fifteen seconds.
8. Cap the bottle and keep it in a safe dry place (eg fridge).
9. Wash hands with clean water.
4. How to give eye drops to the patient:
1. Do steps one to three as per previous rules.

3. Gently pull the eyelids under the affected eye.
