জাতীয় পরিচয়পত্র (NID card)বা জন্মনিবন্ধন সনদ ছাড়া ট্রেনের টিকিট পাওয়া যাবে না।আজ বুধবার থেকে এই রীতি চালু করেছে বাংলাদেশ রেল কতৃপক্ষ। এ ব্যবস্থায় বিদেশি নাগরিকদের ট্রেনে ভ্রমণের ক্ষেত্রে পাসপোর্ট দেখিয়ে টিকিট নিতে হবে। দেশীয় নাগরিকদের দরকার হবে জাতীয় পরিচয়পত্র।
রেলওয়ের সিদ্ধান্ত অনুসারে, জাতীয় পরিচয়পত্র অথবা জন্মনিবন্ধন সনদ যাচাইয়ের মাধ্যমে আন্তনগর ট্রেনের টিকিট কাটতে হবে বলে জানিয়েছে রেল প্রাশাসন। এক্ষেত্রে রেলের কর্মকর্তারা পয়েন্ট অব সেল (পিওএস) মেশিনের মাধ্যমে টিকিটের সঠিকতা যাচাই করবেন। কেউ অন্যের জাতীয় পরিচয়পত্র দিয়ে টিকিট কেটে ভ্রমণ করলে তার বিরুদ্ধে আইনগত ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে। এই ব্যবস্থাকে কথিত স্লোগন ‘টিকিট যার ভ্রমণ তার’ বলছে রেলওয়ে কতৃপক্ষ। টিকিট জালিয়াতি ও কালোবাজারি বন্ধ ও স্মার্ট বাংলাদেশ গড়ার সরকারি উদ্যোগের একটি অংশ মাত্র। আজ (০১-০৩-২০২৩) সকাল সাড়ে ৮টায় কমলাপুর রেলস্টেশনে প্রথম এই কার্যক্রমের উদ্বোধন করবেন রেলমন্ত্রী নূরুল ইসলাম।
তবে এর মাধ্যমে অনেক যাত্রীই ট্রেনে ভ্রমন করতে পারবেন না বলে আশঙ্কা করছেন রেলের কর্মকর্তাগন। দায়িত্বরত রেলের কর্মকর্তারা বলছেন, এই ব্যবস্থায় যাত্রীদের হয়রানি ও কষ্ট বাড়বে বলে ধারনা করা হয়। কারণ, এই ব্যবস্থায় টিকিট কাটতে হলে ১২ বছরের অধিক বয়সী দেশের জনসংখ্যার সবাইকে জন্ম নিবন্ধনের আওতায় আসতে হবে। তাছাড়া নিবন্ধনের পর ওয়েবসাইট থেকে ট্রেনের টিকিট কাটতে হলে অন্তত একটি অনলাইন ইমেইল আইডি লাগবে। কারণ, ইমেইল আইডি দিয়ে সাইন আপ ছাড়া নিবন্ধন কিংবা টিকিট কাটা অনলাইনে গ্রহণযোগ্য নয়। আর যাঁরা সরাসরি কাউন্টার থেকে টিকিট কাটবেন, তাঁদেরও পুর্বে থেকে নিবন্ধনকৃত থাকতে হবে। এই রীতিতে দেশের একটা বড় জনগোষ্ঠী টিকিট কাটার সুযোগ হারাবেন।
এদিকে এই নতুন পদ্ধতি চালু হওয়ার খবরে অনলাইন ও কাউন্টারে রেলের অগ্রিম টিকিট কাটার হিড়িক পড়েছে বলে জানা যায়। তাছাড়া গতকাল মঙ্গলবার আগামী কয়েক দিনের কোনো টিকিট অনলাইনে ক্রয় করা যায় নি। এ ছাড়া আগামী শনিবার পর্যন্ত অগ্রিম রেলের টিকিট গতকাল বিক্রি হয়েছে। সেক্ষেত্রে গতকাল পর্যন্ত যেসব যাত্রী টিকিট নিয়েছেন, তাঁদের ওপর আগামী ৪ দিনের ক্ষেত্রে নতুন পদ্ধতি কার্যকর করা সম্ভব নয়। নতুন ব্যবস্থা পুরোপুরি কার্যকর হতে কমপক্ষে শনিবার পর্যন্ত অপেক্ষা করতে হবে।
সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্মকর্তারা জানিয়েছেন , এই পদ্ধতি কার্যকর করা খুব কঠিন হবে। কারণ, আন্তজেলা পর্যায়ে অনেক যাত্রী টিকিটই কাটেন না তারা টিকিট বিহীন করে থাকে। তাছাড়া ট্রেনে পরীক্ষা করার মতো পর্যাপ্ত লোকবল নেই। আগের মতো টিটিইদের বাড়তি আয়ের পথ তৈরি হবে।
তবে যাত্রীরা এনআইডি বা জন্মনিবন্ধন বা পাসপোর্ট ব্যবহার করে নতুন ব্যবস্থায় নিবন্ধনপ্রক্রিয়া সম্পন্ন করতে পারবেন। দেশের বিভিন্ন বিভাগীয় শহরের রেলস্টেশন ও আন্তনগর ট্রেনের প্রারম্ভিক স্টেশনগুলোতে সর্বসাধারণের নিবন্ধনপ্রক্রিয়ায় সহযোগিতা করার জন্য প্রতিটি রেল স্টেশনে একটি করে হেল্প ডেস্ক স্থাপন করা হয়েছে বলে রেলওয়ে কর্তৃপক্ষ জানিয়েছে। ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশ গড়ার লক্ষ্যে বিভিন্ন পরিবর্তন প্রনয়ন করছে রেল কতৃপক্ষ।

Train tickets cannot be obtained without National Identity Card (NID card) or birth certificate. Bangladesh Railway Authority has introduced this practice from today Wednesday. In this system, foreign nationals will have to show their passports to get tickets for traveling by train. Domestic citizens will need national identity cards.
According to the decision of the railways, the railway administration said that tickets for intercity trains should be booked through verification of national identity card or birth certificate. In this case, the railway officials will verify the correctness of the ticket through Point of Sale (POS) machines. Legal action will be taken against anyone traveling by ticketing using another's national identity card. This system is said to be the slogan 'Ticket whose journey it is' called by the railway authorities. Stopping ticket fraud and black market is just one part of government initiative to build Smart Bangladesh. Today (01-03-2023) at 8:30 am, Railway Minister Nurul Islam will first inaugurate this program at Kamalapur railway station.
However, railway officials fear that many passengers will not be able to travel by train. Railway officials in charge say that this system is expected to increase the harassment and suffering of passengers. Because, in order to buy tickets in this system, all the population of the country above 12 years of age must come under the birth registration. Moreover, after registration, at least one online email ID is needed to book train tickets from the website. Because, registration or ticket booking is not accepted online without signing up with email id. And those who will buy tickets directly from the counter, they must also be registered in advance. In this way, a large population of the country will lose the opportunity to buy tickets.
Meanwhile, it is known that the news of the introduction of this new system has led to the rush to buy railway tickets in advance online and at the counter. Moreover, yesterday Tuesday, no tickets could be purchased online for the next few days. Apart from this, advance train tickets till next Saturday were sold yesterday. In that case, it is not possible to implement the new procedure for the next 4 days on the passengers who have taken tickets till yesterday. The new system will have to wait at least until Saturday to take full effect.
The concerned officials said, this method will be very difficult to implement. Because, at the inter-district level, many passengers do not buy tickets, they remain ticketless. Also there is not enough manpower to check the trains. As before, TTEs will get additional income.
However, passengers can complete the registration process in the new system using NID or birth certificate or passport. Railway authorities said that one help desk has been set up at each railway station to facilitate public registration process at railway stations and starting stations of intercity trains in various divisional cities of the country. Railway authorities are making various changes to build digital Bangladesh.
