খুলনায় ব্যাপক পরিমাণ মাদকদ্রব্য ধ্বংস করেছে বর্ডার গার্ড বাংলাদেশ (বিজিবি)। রোববার (৫ মার্চ) দুপুরে দিকে খুলনা বিজিবি অফিস প্রাঙ্গণে বুলডোজার ও আগুনে পুড়িয়ে অগনিত মাদকদ্রব্য ধ্বংস করেছে বিজিবি কতৃপক্ষ ।
এ সকল ধ্বংস করা মাদকদ্রব্যের মধ্যে ছিল: ফেনসিডিল ৫৬ হাজার ২৩৮ বোতল ভারতীয়, বাংলা মদ চার হাজার ৩২২ বোতল, অন্যান্য মদ ১২৬ বোতল , সিরাপ ছিল ৩১১ বোতল ভারতীয়, গাঁজার পরিমান ছিলো ৪৭.৫৩০ কেজি ভারতীয়, ইয়াবা ক্যাপসুল ২৩ হাজার ৬৯০ পিস ভারতীয়, তিন হাজার আটত্রিশ পিস বিভিন্ন রকম যৌন উত্তেজক ট্যাবলেট এবং পাঁচ হাজার ৬৪৯ প্যাকেট ভারতীয় পাতার তামাক পাতার বিড়ি।
তথ্যসূত্রে জানা যায় খুলনা ব্যাটালিয়ন একুশ বিজিবি’র লেফটেন্যান্ট কর্নেল মোহাম্মদ তানভীর রহমান বলেন, আমরা মাদকের বিরুদ্ধে শক্ত অবস্থানে রয়েছি ও সবমসময় থাকবো। মাদকবিরোধী অভিযানে মাধ্যমে বিভিন্ন প্রকার সিরাপ,মদ, গাঁজা, ইয়াবা ফেনসিডিল জব্দ করেছি। ‘মাদককে না বলি’ বার্তা দেওয়ার জন্য বাৎসরিক আমরা বহু প্রজাতির মাদকদ্রব্য ধ্বংস করি। আজও মাদকদ্রব্য ধ্বংস করা হয়েছে ব্যাপক পরিমানে।
অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে খুলনা সিটি করপোরেশনের মেয়র তালুকদার আব্দুল খালেক জানান, মাদকদ্রব্য পাচার সংক্রান্ত অপরাধ প্রতিহত করা বর্ডার গার্ড বাংলাদেশের অন্যতম দায়িত্ব ও কর্তব্য। বাংলাদেশের বিভিন্ন বডার সীমান্ত দিয়ে আসা মাদকদ্রব্য চোরাচালান প্রতিরোধ করা এই বাহিনীর জন্য একটি চ্যালেঞ্জ ও লক্ষ্য। এ বিষয়টিকে আমাদের সকলকে পেশাগত দায়িত্ব ছাড়াও সামাজিক দায় দায়িত্ব মনে করতে হবে। কারন মাদকের সঙ্গে অপরাধ প্রবণতার সরাসরি সম্পৃক্ততা রয়েছে। তাছাড়া বিশেষ করে মাদকাসক্তির করাল গ্রাসে বর্তমানে আমাদের গোটা দেশের তরুণ যুবসমাজ আজ ধ্বংসের সম্মুখীন।
তিনি আরও বলেন, মাদকের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিরোধ গড়ে তোলা আমাদের সকলের সামাজিক ও নৈতিক দায়িত্ব। সেজন্য আমাদেরকে মাদক সেবনের ক্ষতিকর দিকগুলো সম্পর্কে গণসচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি করতে হবে। সন্ত্রাস ও মাদকমুক্ত সোনার বাংলাদেশ গড়া বর্তমান সরকারের একটি অন্যতম অঙ্গীকার। তাই দেশের সরকারের এই অঙ্গীকার পরিপুর্ন বাস্তবায়নে বিজিবি অগ্রণী ভূমিকা পালন করছে।
অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে বক্তব্য পেশ করেন যশোর বিজিবি’র সদর দপ্তরের প্রধান রিজিয়ন কমান্ডার ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল শামীম আহমেদ এবং খুলনা অঞ্চলের বিজিবি’র সদর দপ্তরের সেক্টর কমান্ডার কর্নেল মামুনূর রশীদ মুল্যবান বক্তব্য রাখেন।
তাছাড়া স্বাগত বক্তব্য দেন খুলনা ব্যাটালিয়ন একুশ বিজিবি’র লেফটেন্যান্ট কর্নেল মোহাম্মদ তানভীর রহমান। খুলনা জেলার অতিরিক্ত জেলা প্রশাসক (শিক্ষা ও আইসিটি) পুলক কুমার মৈত্র এবং অতিরিক্ত পুলিশ সুপার (ট্র্যাফিক) তাপস কুমার পাল পৃথক পৃথক বক্তব্য পেশ করেন।
আসুন আমরা মাদকের বিরুদ্ধে সোচ্চার হই শক্ত প্রতিরোধ গড়ে তুলি। কারন আমার দেশ আমাদের তরুনপ্রজন্ম রক্ষা করার দায়িত্ব আমাদের সকলের। প্রতিরোধ গড়ে তুলি মাদকমুক্ত জীবন গড়ি।

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) destroyed a large amount of drugs in Khulna. On Sunday (March 5) in Khulna BGB office premises, BGB officials destroyed innumerable drugs by using bulldozers and burning them.
Among these destroyed drugs were: Phencidil 56 thousand 238 bottles Indian, Bengali liquor 4 thousand 322 bottles, other liquor 126 bottles, syrup 311 bottles Indian, amount of ganja 47.530 kg Indian, yaba capsules 23 thousand 690 pieces Indian, Three thousand and thirty eight pieces of various aphrodisiac tablets and five thousand and 649 packets of Indian leaf tobacco leaf bidis.
According to sources, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Tanveer Rahman of Khulna Battalion 20 BGB said that we are in a strong position against drugs and will always be. Various types of syrup, liquor, ganja, yaba phensidyl have been seized through anti-narcotics operation. Every year we destroy many types of drugs to convey the message of 'No Drugs'. Even today, drugs are destroyed on a large scale.
Addressing the chief guest at the event, Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khalek said that preventing the crime related to drug trafficking is one of the duties and responsibilities of Border Guard Bangladesh. It is a challenge and goal for this force to prevent drug smuggling through various border borders of Bangladesh. All of us should consider this as a social responsibility in addition to our professional responsibility. Because drugs have a direct correlation with criminal tendencies. Moreover, the youth of our entire country is currently facing destruction due to drug addiction.
He also said that it is the social and moral responsibility of all of us to build resistance against drugs. That is why we need to increase public awareness about the harmful aspects of drug use. Making Bangladesh free from terrorism and drugs is one of the promises of the current government. Therefore, BGB is playing a leading role in the full implementation of this commitment of the country's government.
Brigadier General Shamim Ahmed, chief region commander of Jessore BGB headquarters, spoke as a special guest on the occasion and Colonel Mamunur Rashid Mulyaban, sector commander of Khulna region BGB headquarters spoke.
Moreover, Lt. Col. Mohammad Tanveer Rahman of Khulna Battalion 20 BGB gave a welcome speech. Khulna District Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Pulak Kumar Maitra and Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Tapas Kumar Pal presented separate speeches.
