তাইওয়ানে যেকোনও সময় চীনা বাহিনী প্রবেশ করতে পারে বলে সতর্কবানী করেছেন দেশটির প্রতিরক্ষামন্ত্রী চিউ কুও চেং। তিনি জানান, প্রণালিজুড়ে উত্তেজনা বৃদ্ধির সাথে ভূখণ্ডের কাছাকাছি এলাকায় চীনা সামরিক বাহিনী ‘হঠাৎ প্রবেশ’ করতে পারে।
সাম্প্রতিক বছরগুলোতে তাইওয়ানের আশপাশে সামরিক তৎপরতা বেশ বাড়িয়েছে চীনা সরকার। রিপোর্ট অনুসারে দ্বীপের বিমান প্রতিরক্ষা শনাক্তকরণ অঞ্চলে প্রায় প্রতিদিনই চীনা বিমান বাহিনীর অনুপ্রবেশ রয়েছে বলে জানা গেছে।
যদিও উপকূল থেকে ৪৪ দশমিক চার কিলোমিটার অঞ্চলে চীনা বাহিনীর প্রবেশের কোনও ঘটনা জানায়নি তাইওয়ান সরকার । তবে গত বছর চীন একটি বেসামরিক ড্রোন গুলি করে ভূপাতিত করেছে চীনা বাহিনী। চীনা উপকূলের একটি দ্বীপের কাছে ড্রোনটি প্রবেশ করেছিল বলে জানা যায়।
প্রকৃতপক্ষে স্বশাসিত তাইওয়ান দ্বীপটি যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের সঙ্গে সামরিক আদানপ্রদান বাড়ানোর ফলে ক্ষেপে আছে বেইজিং সরকার ।
পার্লামেন্টে আইনপ্রণেতাদের প্রশ্নের উত্তরে প্রতিরক্ষামন্ত্রী চিউ কুও চেং সোমবার বলেন, ‘চাইনিজ পিপলস লিবারেশন আর্মি (পিএলএ) সমুদ্র দ্বীপ তাইওয়ানের আঞ্চলিক আকাশ ও সমুদ্রের কাছাকাছি এলাকায় প্রবেশের অজুহাত খুঁজছে কোন অজুহাত পেলে তারা প্রবেশ করবে।’
তিনি জানান, ‘তাইওয়ান সংলগ্ন অঞ্চলে হঠাৎ প্রবেশ করতে পারে চীনা বাহিনী বা পিএলএ। এটা চলতি বছরেই যে কোন সময় ঘটতে পারে। আসলে তারা
প্রবেশের জন্য প্রস্তুত হচ্ছে, এখন প্রস্তুতি নিচ্ছে। প্রয়োজনে তারা বিভিন্ন শক্তি প্রয়োগ করবে।’
প্রতিক্রিয়ায় চীনা পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের মুখপাত্র মাও নিং বলেন, ‘বেইজিং তার সার্বভৌমত্ব এবং আঞ্চলিক ক্ষুন্নতা রক্ষার জন্য অবশ্যই সবসময়ই সঠিক ও দৃঢ় পদক্ষেপ নেবে।’
অন্যদিকে তাইওয়ান সরকার বলছে, চীনা সশস্ত্র বাহিনী তার ভূখণ্ডে প্রবেশ করলে আত্মরক্ষার জন্য প্রস্তুত এবং পাল্টা আক্রমণের অধিকার প্রয়োগ করবে তারা।
গত বছর তৎকালীন মার্কিন হাউজ স্পিকার ন্যান্সি পেলোসির তাইওয়ান দ্বীপটি পরিদর্শনের ফলে চীনা প্রতিক্রিয়া বাড়তে থাকে এই প্রতিক্রিয়ায় চীন অঞ্চলটির চারপাশে নজিরবিহীন সামরিক মহড়া চালিয়েছিল।

Defense Minister Chiu Kuo Cheng has warned that Chinese forces could enter Taiwan at any time. He said the Chinese military could "suddenly enter" areas close to the mainland with rising tensions across the Straits.
The Chinese government has increased military activity around Taiwan in recent years. According to reports, the Chinese Air Force has been infiltrating the island's air defense detection zone on an almost daily basis.
However, the Taiwanese government has not reported any incident of Chinese forces entering the area 44.4 kilometers from the coast. However, last year China shot down a civilian drone. The drone is said to have entered an island off the Chinese coast.
In fact, the self-governing island of Taiwan has increased military exchanges with the United States, angering the Beijing government.
"The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) is looking for an excuse to enter Taiwan's territorial airspace and areas close to the sea," Defense Minister Chiu Kuo Cheng said Monday in response to questions from lawmakers in parliament.

China launched unprecedented military exercises around the territory in response to then-US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to the island of Taiwan last year.
